Western-backed forces in Afghanistan are preparing to make a counter-attack on the city of Kunduz, which was conquered by the Taliban yesterday (Monday). A spokesperson for the Kunduz police told the BBC that the opreation will begin in the next few hours.
Kunduz was the first provincial capital that the Taliban conquered since the United States and its coalition invaded in 2001.
Shortly after taking over the city, Taliban fighters opened the jails and freed the prisoners inside, including a number of Taliban leaders.
