The UN high commissioner for human rights, Zeid Ra'ad al-Hussein, calls Hungary's treatment of Syrian refugees "utterly appalling."

Al-Hussein spoke with Al Jazeera about Hungarian police using water cannons and tear gas against asylum seekers, and Prime Minister Viktor Orban's statement that Hungary does not welcome Muslims. "I find it utterly appalling, really, the reactions and the policies of the Hungarian government - a great surprise to me," he said.
