Minister for Culture and Sport Miri Regev (Likud) says that she intends to turn Memorial Day ceremonies in Israel's three largest cities into official government events, Yisrael Hayom reports.
If she does so, then ministers will be required to take part in the ceremonies. By this, Regev hopes to end the recurrent difficulties that memorial ceremonies face: because nearly all are scheduled for the same time, it is difficult for organizers to bring in government representatives.
