Customs agents working at the Nitzana Border Crossing, in conjunction with other security forces, identified and thwarted an attempt to smuggle 15 tons of sulfuric acid into Gaza. The material is forbidden from being transferred to Gaza because it can be used in the fabrication of deadly explosives.
The substance was reportedly disguised as paint thinner, so that it could be smuggled into Gaza. All parties involved in the attempted smuggling will be prosecuted.
