Martin Winterkorn, the CEO of Volkwagen, has announced that he will retire in light of the company's recent scandal.
Several days ago reports came out that Volkwagen had falsely reported the emissions ratings for several of its diesel cars in the United States. Germany is considering opening a criminal investigation into the incident, as is the US Department of Justice.
