Former soccer defender Josuup Simunic, who was banned for 10 games after leading fans in a pro-Nazi chant, has been tapped by Croatia to assist new national team coach Ante Cacic.
Croatia has a history of anti-Semitism on the soccer field, most recently in June when a swastika was painted on the team's field before its European Championship qualifying match against Italy.
