German prosecutors have charged a 91-year-old woman with 260,000 counts of accessory to murder on allegations she was as a member of the Nazi SS at the Auschwitz death camp during World War II.

The woman, who name wasn't released due to Germany privacy laws, is believed to have served as a radio operator for the camp commandant in the spring of 1944, Schleswig-Holstein prosecutors' spokesman Heinz Doellel said Monday.
