Internal Security Minister Gilad Erdan visited the Western Wall in Jerusalem on Friday, after holding a security assessment with police officers.
"The police presence is felt and we will do everything we can to ensure that calm will be maintained as much as possible. The police will act harshly against any rioters," said Erdan. "Our intention is to maintain the status quo on the Temple Mount. What we have seen in recent days is Islamic rioters who turn the Mount into a warehouse of terrorism."
