The US Marine Corps is trying to prevent women from serving in front-line combat positions, Associated Press reports.

The move is angering senior officers in the Navy, the branch to which the Marines officially belongs. The conflict started due to a debate over whether or not the Navy Secretary can cancel a Marine proposal to keep women out of infantry and reconnaissance roles.

There has not yet been any official statements on the matter, but the integration of women has been a focus for the US military recently.
