During Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's official visit to the United Kingdom, he and his wife were given a tour of the National Library.

While there, they were shown two items that had been specially prepared for the visit. One was the original Balfour Declaration from 1917, in which Foreign Minister Arthur Balfour officially expressed Britain's support for a Jewish homeland in the Land of Israel. Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that the Declaration is the most important document in the history of the Jewish people.

The second item was a collection of Benjamin Ze'ev Herzl's writings that were collected and organized in 1937 by Professor Benzion Netanyahu, the Prime Minister's father.
