The head of the US Defense Intelligence Agency is speaking up in opposition to President Barack Obama's policy towards Iraq and Syria, claiming that the two countries may fall apart due to the current fighting.
"I'm having a tough time seeing it [Iraq and Syria] come back together," Lieutenant General Vincent Stewart noted during a conference.
Speaking specifically about Iraq, General Stewart expressed doubts that the Kurdish minority would participate in a central government again. As for Syria, Stewart said, "I can see a time in the future where Syria is fractured into two or three parts."
