Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein has responded to Minister of Sport and Culture Miri Regev's (Likud) request to prevent soccer games on Shabbat.
Weinstein published a letter today (Wednesday) in which he explained that there is no reason to change the decades-long policy of allowing games on Shabbat. Instead, he suggested that a government committee should decide on how it wishes to deal with the matter, and only then should Regev discuss it with the attorney general.
