Russia says that it has always been open about providing military equipment to the Syrian regime, a foreign ministry spokesperson told the RIA Novosti news agency today (Monday).
The spokesperson claimed that the weapons are to be used to fight "terrorism." She added that Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has told US Secretary of State John Kerry that it is still too early to ask Russia to participate in military operations inside of Syria.
