An independent group has rejected the Mexican government's claims about 43 college students who went missing last year.
A government report concluded that the group may have accidentally interfered with a drug shipment, and that the students were killed by a drug gang. The attorney general has claimed that all the bodies were thrown onto a funeral pyre and burned to the point that they could not be identified.
The Inter-American Human Rights Commission looked over the official statements and investigation, and found them to full of errors and lies. In particular, it claims that the alleged funeral pyre never existed.
