Hundreds of haredi soldiers belonging to the Netzah Yehuda Battalion took part in a large-scale exercise this past weekend. The exercise lasted three days and focused on urban-style fighting.
In addition to their military requirements, the soldiers took part in prayers, complete with slichot and blowing the shofar.
The military has been looking for new ways to welcome haredi soldiers into its ranks. Netzah Yehuda, formerly known as Nahal Haredi, is a battalion in which all religious laws are kept to as carefully as possible.
