Prime Minister and Minister of Communication Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that he wishes to cancel a clause in the Public Broadcasting Law that was passed this week. The clause prevents journalists from voicing their own opinions on the air.
"The Prime Minister believes that the rules of journalists' ethics do not need to be enshrined in official legislation, and has decided to fix the section in question," an official statement reads.
