A former professional US football layer is being charged with murdering his prison cellmate.
Lawrence Phillips played as a running back for four teams from 1996 until 1999. He is currently serving a 31-year sentence for choking his girlfriend and running over three teenagers.
Prosecutors say that Phillips strangled his cellmate Damion Soward to death.
