Police are viewing a report of a stolen 120,000 shekel ($30,500 US) car with suspicion, as mounting evidence appears to show that the owner is trying to defraud the insurance company.

The car's owner called police to report that his Audi car had been stolen from his home in Netivot. Police now believe that he sold the car to an Arab living under the Palestinian Authority, but reported it as stolen in order to come up with more money to pay his large debts.

The suspected fraudster has been released from questioning with restrictions. The investigation into his conduct is still ongoing.
