President Reuven Rivlin left today (Wednesday) for his first official visit to the Vatican. While there, President Rivlin will meet with Pope Francis, the Vatican's Prime Minister, and the Italian President. He will also hold a special meeting with members of the Jewish community.

Before boarding the aircraft Rivlin said, "I am leaving now in order to meet a leader who is a true friend of the State of Israel, and of the Jewish people. Pope Francis is an inspiration as a leader who believes in dialog between different religions, as well as in his actions and statements promoting such dialog."
