Israel's foreign ministry, with assistance from Interpol, has successfully returned one of its citizens who intended to join ISIS in Syria.

The person in question is a 21-year-old Jewish Israeli, though no further identifying information has been given.

Last Thursday a family approached the police to say that their son had flown to Crete and intended to continue to Syria. The family had read the son's e-mails and strongly suspected that he wished to join ISIS.
