A senior Iranian official denied claims made by UK Foreign Minister Phillip Hammond, according to which the regime in Tehran “Changed its direction regarding Israel.” The Iranian official declared that his country “Will never make peace with the ‘Occupation and expulsion led by the Zionist regime.’”
The official, Ali Akbar Velayati, council to Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei with respect to international affairs, said that “We will not recognize Israel, never. They occupy and they expel. We will never make peace with this situation, contrary to what has been said.”
