German Justice Minister Heiko Maas has asked Facebook to take a more active role in deleting racist content from its site. The request comes after an increase in anti-migrant sentiment around Germany.
Germany has strong laws against incitement, largely as a result of the Nazis' crimes. Authorities say they are worried that there are more and more attacks against asylum seekers.
Facebook confirmed that it is taking Maas's request "very seriously," though it has not said whether it will accept his invitation for a meeting.
