The Egged Ta'avura workers' union has announced that it will strike on Sunday in protest against slow negotiations that have lasted for ten months. There is no set end date for the strike.
Egged Ta'avura primarily serves communities near Jerusalem, Ashdod, Be'er Sheva, Bnei Brak, Kiryat Gat, Kiryat Malachi, Netanya, and Sderot.
"We apologize to the public for the distress caused," an official statement read. "We looked for ways to advance the negotiations without prejudicing the passengers, such as providing a free rides, but the company preferred to stop the buses from running themselves and disrupt the passengers' routine rather than making progress in the negotiations."
