Deputy Jerusalem Mayor Ofer Berkowitz on Thursday night criticized Mayor Nir Barkat for seeking to close supermarkets that operate on Shabbat in the city center.
"The decision affects the delicate fabric of Jerusalem, hurts the city center, harms the large secular population in the city, as well as the non-Jewish population and tourists," said Berkowitz.
