The Ometz movement turned to Justice Yaakov Tirkel in a letter, requesting the investigation of motivations behind the “Closed club of former Police Commissioners and officers,” against the appointment of Brigadier-General Gal Hirsch to the position of Police Commissioner.

“The Ometz movement believes that representative of the aforesaid club do not merit to ‘stand’ before Tirkel; as some of its members' hands are unclean and some are even directly responsible for the moral deterioration of Israel’s Police Department,” the letter read.
