The Sarona market in Tel Aviv has canceled the fine it had imposed on a store for observing Shabbat, according to Ynet.

The fine, 3,000 shekels ($764 US) for each Shabbat that the store remains closed, caused outrage around the Israel.

Sarona released an official statement, saying: "Acting from a place of public responsibility, the management has decided to cancel the fine, and contact the relevant legal authorities to investigate the violation."
