ESPN has dropped three-time World Series Champion baseball pitcher Curt Schilling from his broadcasting position over a controversial tweet.

Schilling shared a tweet reading, "It's said only 5-10% of Muslims are extremists. In 1940, only 7% of Germans were Nazis. How'd that go?" He added a line of his own text, saying, "The math is staggering when you get to true #'s."

The tweet was criticized as being offensive to Muslims. Schilling stood behind the message at first, then later apologized. He deleted the original message and wrote a follow-up message: "I understand and accept my suspension. 100% my fault. Bad choices have bad consequences and this was a bad decision in every way on my part."
