The UN Security Council held its first-ever meeting on violence and discrimination towards people of different sexualities yesterday (Monday).
"It's about time, 70 years after the creation of the UN, that the fate of LGBT persons who fear for their lives around the world is taking center stage," said US Ambassador Samantha Power.
During the discussions, they focused on ISIS and its admission to executing homosexuals by means of firing squads, beheadings, and stonings.
