Interior Minister Silvan Shalom on Monday wrote Economy Minister Aryeh Deri and asked him to promote a move to monitor the prices of food sold at Israel’s beaches.

According to Shalom, “It is outrageous that a family that wants to enjoy a free resource such as the beach has to pay so much money. The average family of five people have to spend dozens of shekels, if not more, on ice cream and bottled drinks, just to enjoy a night out on the beach.”
