A jewelry merchant was robbed near the Big Center in Bet Shemesh. The thief stole a bag containing 150,000 shekels ($37,000 US) worth of jewelry.
According to the merchant, he stopped his car on the side of the road. An unfamiliar young man approached, opened the driver-side door, hit the victim, and stole the bag before disappearing on foot.
The victim was treated by MDA first responders. Police have opened an investigation into the matter.
