Turkish police say that they have arrested two people for firing guns and throwing a grenade near the Dolmabache Palace in Istanbul. One police officer was lightly injured.

The official report says that the suspects had two grenades, an automatic rifle, a handgun, and ammunition when they were caught.

Authorities did not make any statement on the assailants' identities or motivation, though official state media said that the two belong to the Revolutionary People's Liberation Army Front.
