Update: Hunger Striker Mohammed Allan Suffers Brain Damage

The Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon announced that hunger striker Mohammed Allan has suffered brain damage. The statement clarified that the damage occurred due to Allan's nutrient deficiency, and it is not yet known whether the damage is reversible.

Earlier today (Wednesday) the government announced that it would release Allan if he has irreversible brain damage.

Allan, a member of Islamic Jihad, began his hunger strike more than two months ago.
