Jerusalem district police, the security forces responsible for safeguarding the city’s Pride Parade, did not know that stabber Yishai Shlissel was released from prison after serving time for a similar crime.

The findings of a report on the stabbing indicate that the police turned to national intelligence sources for an opinion on six names of sources likely to be problematic with respect to the parade. Shlissel’s name was on the list, but feedback on him was not provided and the police were not even informed that he had been released from prison.
