Italian authorities arrested eight smugglers for allegedly causing the deaths of 49 migrants who suffocated to death in the cargo hold of a ship traveling to the country.
The eight allegedly violently prevented the migrants from leaving the cargo hold, even though the air inside of it had filled with fuel fumes and suffocated them.
