China has announced that it is launching an investigation against its chief work safety regulator, following last week's explosion in Tianjin.
The Central Commission for Discipline, anti-graft regulatory committee of the Communist Party, wrote on its website that it is checking on whether Yang Dongliang was negligent in his duties.
The Tianjin explosion killed more than 100 people.
