Two Jewish activists arrested during protests in Ashkelon Sunday over a hunger-striking Muslim terrorist have been released from police custody.
The pair were among dozens of Israeli activists who faced-off with supporters of jailed Islamic Jihad terrorist Mohammed Allan outside the southern city's Barzilai Hospital, where a hunger-striking terrorist prisoner is being treated.
They were arrested for allegedly chanting "death to Arabs" at Arab protesters, who themselves hurled anti-Semitic epithets at Jewish activists.
The court dismissed a petition by police to keep the men in custody for an additional 60 days, and released one without charge. The other has also been released, but on condition that he not approach Barzilai Hospital for 60 days.
The Honenu legal rights group, which represented the two men, hailed the judge's decision.
