Israel Prize winner Professor Yehezkiel Stein has passed away at the age of 89.
"The Hadassah Medical Center is deeply saddened to announce the death of Professor Yehezkiel Stein, winner of the Israel Prize for Medicine and one of the leading figures in medicine, both in Israel and around the world," a statement read. "Professor Stein passed away last night at a ripe old age. Professor Stein headed the internal medicine department at Hadassah Ein Kerem for 23 years, and was considered one of the world leaders in the field of lipids and atherosclerosis."
