The US intelligence community says that it is confident it will be able to check whether Iran complies with this recent nuclear deal.

Many have expressed concern over this issue, particularly because the same agencies have a history of misidentifying and misjudging weapons of mass destruction.

According to a classified joint intelligence assessment to Congress, their confidence stems from the fact that Iran is required to provide comprehensive information about its nuclear program.

Last month James Clapper, the director of national intelligence, said, "We will have far better insight [into] the industrial aspects of the Iranian nuclear program with this deal than what we have today."
