Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat has commented on the Kehilat Ya'akov school's decision to rescind an invitation to President Reuven Rivlin.

"I am saddened by Kehilat Ya'akov school's mistaken decision," said Barkat. "We have a great president with roots in Jerusalem, a true friend of the city who constantly works to unite the people. It is our honor to host him in every place and any time in Jerusalem. The school's decision is inconsistent with our duty, certainly in these days, to educate our children in all sectors to love each other, to welcome others, and to tolerate each other."
