South Korea has announced that it will resume propaganda broadcasts over its northern border, as a response to a recent landmine explosion.
The South Korean Ministry of Defense considers the loudspeaker broadcasts to be a type of psychological warfare, though it discontinued the practice in 2004.
"North Korea will pay a harsh price proportionate to the provocation that North Korea made," said Major General Koo Hong,mo, the Joint Chiefs of Staff director of operations.
Seoul blames North Korea for laying a landmine in the Demilitarized Zone which exploded and maimed two South Korean soldiers.
