Knesset members from the Kulanu party, headed by Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon, made a visit of support to President Reuven Rivlin.
"Rubi, we see in you a symbol of the State of Israel. We think that there is no place in our society for attacks on you - the President of the State of Israel," said Kahlon.
President Rivlin thanked the visitors and said, "Your coming here has warmed my heart and I thank you. This issue is not my personal struggle or some meaningless comment but a struggle over Israeli society and the people in Israel. Freedom of speech is necessary and crucial to the existence of a democratic country."
