An internal IDF report has been released, showing an increase in drug crimes among soldiers and a decrease in desertions.
According to the report, military police opened 629 drug-related cases in 2014. This is a 50 percent increase over the figures from 2013. In addition, 66 percent of last year's military police investigations involved drugs, compared with 50 percent of investigations the previous year.
The report also found that the number of soldiers who deserted dropped from 3,862 in 2013 to 3,359 in 2014, a decline of 13 percent.
