A badminton player has been denied a visa for the World Championship in Indonesia solely because he is Israeli, according to the Olympic Committee of Israel (OCI).
Committee Secretary-General Gili Lustig says that Indonesia, home to the largest Muslim population in the world, refused to grant Misha Zilberman a visa due to his nationality.
Zilberman reportedly applied for the visa six months ago, and was now waiting in Singapore for over two weeks to find out the result.
OCI says that it is working with the Badminton World Federation to assist Zilberman.
