Fraud investigators have arrested a resident of Ma'ale Adumim on suspicion that he defrauding people of a million shekels ($263,000 US).

The suspect, a 58-year-old Jewish man, allegedly offered to help a Jerusalem synagogue raise donations and assisted a prominent member of the synagogue with his legal trouble. According to the report, the suspect received about 150,000 shekels ($39,500 US) but did not provide any service.

Authorities began investigating the synagogue member's complaint, authorities found that the suspect received payments of up to 100,000 shekels ($26,300 US) from a number of sources without holding up his end of the agreements.
