MK Avigdor Liberman called to Haifa Mayor, Yonah Yahav, to resign from his position following the Haifa municipality’s decision to resume funding to the al-Meydan theatre and the play, “The Parallel Time.”
“If Yahav justifies the fact that the money of Haifa residents should fund performances that support terror and idealize terrorists, claiming that Haifa is a tolerant and cultural city, then he does not understand culture and what it is. Instead he is confusing freedom of expression with freedom of incitement and tolerance with the support of terror,” Liberman said. “There is no place for a local authority in the State of Israel to fund the idealization of despicable terrorists and the head of an authority that allows this must resign from his position.”
