MK Omer Bar-Lev (Zionist Union) spoke in favor of harsh measures against Hamas.
After pointed out that Hamas is digging new tunnels for use against Israel, Bar-Lev said, "If I were Defense Minister, I would order the IDF to go out tonight on an operation to destroy the renewed tunnels."
He added that "There is a moral justification, and even a moral obligation, to operate proactively against every tunnels that crosses the border line."
Bar-Lev is on the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, and in charge of security issues for his party. He is a former commander of Sayeret Matkal and the son of former Chief of Staff Haim Bar-Lev.
