Police say that at least 41 people were killed this morning (Wednesday) in an attack on a bus in Pakistan. The bus was carrying Ismaili Shia Muslims, and the attackers are believed to be religiously-motivated Sunni Muslims.

Though Pakistan is a Muslim country, Shias are a minority and are often subjected to violence from Sunnis, particularly by the Taliban and similar groups.

The attack occurred in the southern city of Karachi.
