France announced Wednesday that its embassy in Yemen would be closed until further notice on Friday, due to safety concerns. The embassy also asked French citizens to leave Yemen as soon as possible.
"Given the latest political developments and for security reasons, the embassy asks you to temporarily leave Yemen as quickly as possible," a statement on the embassy's website said.
