    Five Countries Pledge 8,700 Troops to Fight Boko Haram

    Nigeria, Benin, Cameroon, Niger, Nigeria and Chad pledged this past Saurday to deploy 8,700 troops, including both police and civiliansm as part of a regional effort to fight Boko Haram Islamist extremists.

    The countries issued a joint statement following a meeting in Cameroon's capital of Yaounde, the Business Insider reported.
