A US-funded radio station in Baku, Azerbaijan has raided by state prosecutors claiming they have a court ruling permitting them to close it down, reports the AP. The director of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty was quoted as saying that the office had been locked down since this morning (Friday) by armed police.

The Prosecutor General’s Office told the AP that the search had been conducted as part of the investigation into a “grave crime”, but declined to further elaborate on the matter.
